The Solution
Works included an extension to the second floor, introduction of balconies, a raised floor to allow essential services to run above the existing concert floor slab, and alterations to improve the quality of accommodation on the fourth floor and provide additional head height for the lift.
The Challenge
Formerly office accommodation, Bury House was reinstated its original residential use, and we were tasked with restoring its upper floors. A chief consideration was the building’s Grade II listed status and position within the St James’s Conservation Area, calling for a sensitive and sustainable approach.
The Impact
We managed to successfully breathe new life into the building in a manner that resonates with its origins. Complemented by specialist finishes to create luxurious, comfortable homes that are suitable for modern use and align with the highest sustainability and conservation standards.
