The Solution
Forcia’s deep knowledge of dangerous structures and a considered approach ensured that demolition took place safely. We erected a central steel bracing tower to secure the structure before mini piling was carried out to anchor the basement box and avoid the risk of heave following demolition.
The Challenge
This building had been subject to considerable damage following the collapse of a neighbouring property, and received a dangerous structures notice. Our team set out to develop the methodology for the careful demolition and rebuild in a way that mirrors its heritage.
The Impact
We have delivered a new building while retaining its beautiful original frontage in a manner that matches the look and feel of its history. Effectively rescuing and reconstructing the shell and bringing new life to this important part of Chelsea’s conservation area.
