The Challenge
Forcia set out to carry out basement construction under both mews houses, create new staircases and fully fit out the properties including all mechanical and electrical works. Central to the scheme was ensuring that façade remodelling was in keeping with the buildings’ origins.
The Solution
We successfully formed a new basement level beneath the properties while underpinning neighbouring houses. Facades were remodelled sympathetically according to the early Victorian period to retain their charm while a host of specialist finishes were employed to further enrich the appeal of the spaces.
The Impact
We maximised the available space of two beautiful period homes, updating them for modern times while celebrating their heritage. Overcoming difficult logistics we introduced new basement levels, staircases and other stand-out features to deliver outstanding accommodation in one of the capital’s most desirable addresses.
