The Solution
We embarked on a full reconfiguration on a design and build basis, with rear and mansard roof extensions, new floor and refurbishment of the retail elements – stripping them back to shell and core ready for new occupiers to fit out according to their requirements.
The Challenge
The shopfronts and stone surrounds needed an overhaul, and an additional floor was required for the residential units. The site called for thorough planning as it was situated on a double red route, backing onto the exclusive Goring hotel, and within the Grosvenor Gardens Conservation Area.
The Impact
We successfully handed over the building to Grosvenor Estate, having brought it up to date and maximised its usage by incorporating space for affordable housing units above and new retail businesses on the ground and basement levels.
