The Solution
We undertook the demolition and replacement of the existing roof and mansard and, after the formation of the pile mat, commenced piling around the perimeter at the same time as underpinning. Following the reconfiguration of the building, we carried out a full fit-out.
The Challenge
This project consisted of major structural works including demolition, piling, basement excavation and tanking, steel and concrete framing, underpinning and temporary support to the underside of a retained mews house to allow the formation of a double-storey basement in a rear garden underneath.
The Impact
Due to the confined site and residential neighbourhood, we carefully and methodically planned the works to minimise disruption and maximise efficiency from the basement formation to the specialist finishes at the end. We completed the project on time and under budget.
