Works went well on site in Clapham, where Forcia has recently completed the removal of the existing shopfront to make way for a new, fully compliant installation.
During the strip-out, a set of original riveted steel beams was revealed — a striking reminder of the building’s industrial heritage. These elements are being carefully retained and incorporated into the new design, bringing a sense of character and history to the finished scheme.
Then followed the installation of a 90-minute fire-rated shopfront system, specified to meet current fire safety standards while providing a clean and modern façade suitable for commercial use. This installation was supported by secondary steelwork, designed to ensure long-term structural stability and compliance.
The last stage of development was the completion of the 26 residential apartments which including HIU and MVHR systems throughout. This development was a combination of refurbishment of the old building and a mixture of RC and Steelframe for the construction of the new part of the build.
