The fourth edition of the Forcia Building Life Cycle took place on Saturday 15th September 2018 in Hassocks, this years event had 150 property industry cyclists taking part in 76.6km race. Thankfully the weather was yet again on our side, the sun was beating down and the race began with beautiful blue skies over Ditchling Beacon.
The competitors gathered at 8am for registration and breakfast, the first team set off at 9am prompt. As the cyclists were reaching the start point the buzz and excitement was extremely evident with Price & Myers eager to recoup the cup back again after losing it new competitors Aviva Investors, whilst Aviva Investors were keen to keep hold of it for another year. Our own team Forcia were ready and present also hoping for our first win with having a stronger team than ever before.
Forcia provided a full crew support in the form of a broom van to pick up any injured cyclists and mechanic.
This years winners was Price & Myers taking the cup for the third time, for many cyclists this was their first ever race and the longest distance they had ever cycled and although physically exhausted with many tired legs many competitors were thrilled with their achievement. We also had an all female team enter the ride this year, which we were delighted with and pleased to see more female riders take part in the day creating many mixed teams entering.
At the finish line drinks, BBQ and music was awaiting the somewhat tired cyclist who never imagined they could complete the distance, some riders even decided to stay over night at the campsite and carry on the celebrations!
Prizes and trophies were handed out to a number of the competitors and it has become evident that The Forcia Building Life Cycle has grown from strength to strength with more competitors taking part every year. We welcome new riders into the fold and repeat riders back.
The Forcia Building Life Cycle is also proud to have raised a fantastic amount of £630.74 for The Brain Tumour Charity and donations are still being collected to date.
